The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the lovely coastal town of Half Moon Bay has voted to eliminate its police department, outsourcing all of its law enforcement services to the San Mateo County Sheriff.
We've always loved our visits to Half Moon Bay (if you're ever in the area and needing brunch, we cannot recommend the Moss Beach Distillery highly enough). Now, knowing that the town has chosen at least once to trim extraneous services rather than lean more heavily on its taxpayers, we'll enjoy those visits even more.
