Please Consider Helping the Family of Brian Stow

If you live in the Bay Area or Los Angeles County, chances are you've heard plenty about Brian Stow. Stow is, of course, the Santa Cruz paremedic who was brutally beaten in the parking lot outside Dodger Stadium on Opening Day last week. He remains in an LA hospital in critical condition.

We're baseball fans ourselves, but Stow's case is a clear example of a situation where being a good human being is more important than being a good sports fan. As libertarians, we're heartened by the voluntary charity we've seen towards Stow's family in recent days. The South Bay pizza chain Pizza My Heart donated 30% of yesterday's proceeds to a fund for his family, and today Stow's employer (American Medical Response in San Jose) is hosting an all-day fundraising barbecue. The Giants will also be collecting donations at their home opener this Friday.

Those interested in learning more about how they can support Brian Stow and his family can look here for more information.
