If you don't have the right to defend yourself in public because "we have sworn officers who are there to serve and protect the public" and you still get mugged, can you sue the police department for failing to do their job?

Or: if a bunch of people get stabbed outside a San Jose restaurant because the police waited an hour to respond to the 911 call, do they owe damages to the victims?

Classic government: "You can't protect yourself, that's our job. Oh, we didn't do our job? Well... we'll do better next time, we promise. We just need more tax money."

Although I'm sure this won't happen with education. Or Social Security.

Or Medicare. Or Obamacare. Or "economic stimulus". Or energy. Or . . .
